I personally find this system that MMO's have been adopting a lot more engaging. Elyon uses the new MMO style of system where your mouse moves around your camera like a FPS shooter, and you aim your abilities.
Some classes seem to have combo's in the way that using a spell before another will either activate the spell for use, or empower it in some way. The combat is also very interesting and engaging. The questing system allows you to go from depot to depot in a very fluent and smooth manor because of this. This is a nice touch compared to the usual system of gathering quests, completing them all, then running back to hand them all in. Elyon offers an auto complete system on quests that simply pops up on your screen, and offers you the rewards when you complete the objective. The world of Elyon actually has a lot of nice features that I feel more MMO's should adopt. With Elyon's end game systems being mostly PVP, similar to BDO, there's a cause for concern with a system like this. With that said, it was unclear how powerful the ones you could find eventually in the game would actually be compared to the ones you could simply buy. It seemed to me that Luminous could be aquired from playing the game itself, but probably weren't as easy to obtain than just simply cashing in. The player is only allowed one Luminous at a time. the Luminous are summonable creatures that gives bonuses to player using it. Now, are these Luminous a big deal? In my short time playing the game, it seemed to me that it wasn't all that big, although they do give modifiers to players who use them vs.
On the Eastern release, the game was known to have plenty of pay to win aspects, but on the Western release, was limited to a Luminous system within the shop. Now with that all said, is Elyon going to allow for pay to win in the same way that BDO did? Elyon released back in December of 2020 in Korea and out east.
